EU at risk of a third wave of Covid-19 as AstraZeneca vaccine halted over concerns

The MHRA has declared that the UK is likely to be protected from a third Covid-19 wave but the EU is at risk due to a pause in their vaccination programme.

This is due to the raising of concern that the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine has a risk of causing blood clots.
• France and Germany are amongst European countries who have since delayed delivery of vaccinations over these concerns.

Boris Johnson is due to receive his first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine today as a host of European countries announced they would return to using the jab following fresh safety reassurances.
